The shrink packaging process is comprised of three steps:

  1. Wrapping.
  2. Sealing.
  3. Heat shrinking.

First, the item to be shrink packed is wrapped in shrink film. Next, the shrink film is cut using a heating element, sealing the item within. Finally, the shrink film enclosed item is passed through a heat tunnel to activate the shrink properties of the shrink film. Following is an illustration of the process. In this example, sealing is achieved by utilizing an an L-type sealer.
